Pair of model 2030/31 wall lamps by Rolf Krüger & Dieter Witte for Staff Leuchten

Available and in good condition

This elegant pair of Model 2030/31 wall lamps by Rolf Krüger and Dieter Witte for Staff Leuchten captures the essence of German mid-century modern lighting design. The lamps combine sculptural simplicity with functional sophistication. Their softly curved geometric form appears almost architectural, while the contrasting dark exterior and illuminated white interior create a striking visual balance even when the lamps are switched off.

What makes the design especially clever is the way the metal shade controls and shapes the light. Rather than exposing the bulb directly, the curved aluminium shell conceals the source and reflects illumination both upward and downward. This creates a warm indirect glow and dramatic wall-washing effect, turning the surrounding wall into part of the composition itself. The design is minimalist, yet highly atmospheric: the lamps function simultaneously as lighting and as sculptural wall objects.

Krüger and Witte were known for reducing forms to their essentials while maintaining strong visual character, and these lamps demonstrate that philosophy beautifully. The rounded front softens the strict square outline, giving the piece a fluid, almost organic presence. At the same time, the compact dimensions and efficient light diffusion make them highly practical for hallways, bedrooms, or modernist interiors.
